Healthy Cookies: 2 ingredients, 2 seconds, 2 delicious!
Again, I know that I haven't blogged in a really long time. Hopefully that will change soon, as my sis-in-law's new blog about moving to the Caribbean - more on that later - has inspired me to get back into the groove of things here.
However, I wanted to pop on over here and let anyone reading this know about these fabulous cookies that I just made!
The lovely blog (The Burlap Bag) where I found the recipe called them "2 Ingredient Cookies" because that's what they really are at the core.
Don't believe me?
Here, these are the core ingredients that you must have:
banana(s)
oats
The Burlap Bag recipe calls for 2 bananas and 1 cup of oats, but I adjusted my recipe by cutting it in half because I only had one sad, solitary banana.
***WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE BRIEF INTERRUPTION, BUT THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT MUST BE MADE:***
I kid you not, as I type this post, the remaining two cookies are calling my name. That's right... I only have TWO left. I only made them a half hour ago!
***NOW, BACK TO ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING***
Seriously, these things are delicious. Okay, so here is my recipe for this evening's batch:
1 banana (frozen, then thawed)
1/2 cup oats (I used a teensy bit more for a better consistancy)
handful of Heath bar chips
handful of dried cranberries
splash of vanilla
Baked at 350 for about 15 minutes, give or take a few. Delicious!!
I urge you to try these out with anything that might strike your fancy ASAP. The Burlap Bag's extended recipe added walnuts and chocolate chips... mmm! The opportunities are endless! Be sure to let me know if you decide to try them out!
(Side note: Go check out both of the blogs mentioned above! The Burlap Bag has so many fabulous tutorials and items for sale, and who doesn't want to read some entertaining stories about moving to the Caribbean?! Also, my lovely Rachel might give you a heads up as to some of the crazy goings-ons in the Womack family. More on that later... hopefully. Hah!)

ReplyDeleteJocelyn, the cookies in the picture have a few more ingredients, but all you need for the basic recipe are two ingredients! Add more to suit your fancy. :)
