My soul craves my Creator and His creations. The rest is in the details.

My name is Nicole. I am a follower of Jesus, wife, daughter, sister, friend, English teacher, creator, book lover, nature enthusiast, old soul, coffee addict; also, I take way too many pictures. The love of my life is a redheaded percussionist named Patrick. We've been together for twelve years and married for two thirds of that time. We spent a year in Birmingham, England for musical purposes and pursuits (note: I am nothing close to a musician), but we call Oklahoma City home.

This blog has been with me for a long time - since the early days of marriage and going back to college - and has evolved with me through the ebbs and flows of life. There are serious time gaps when I didn't write at all as I navigated through the newlywed phase, the overwhelming task of graduating as an English major, several episodes of tragedy and grief, and the beginning of my teaching career. I'm always trying to find a balance between living and expressing myself in a healthy way; this blog has been there for me when I needed it most, and I hope to come back to it and my writing more consistently as time progresses.

I can't promise you anything except for my whole heart and honest opinions. Authenticity is something I hold dear, and while I try to look at the bright side of things I'm not known to sugar-coat the sour worms. All I'm trying to do is figure out this crazy thing called life and how I fit in this-side of heaven. Aren't we all?

Thanks so much for stopping by and spending a bit of your day with me, truly.
